Kitchens in Clacton-on-Sea
Laid out as a seaside resort in the 1870s, Clacton-on-Sea has a mix of Victorian terraces, inter-war bungalows and newer estates, so no two kitchen projects begin the same way. One question comes up first whenever people plan new kitchens, Clacton included: what will it cost?
Before you commit to anything, you can see exactly what is included and what each part of the project costs.
Costs
Complete kitchen projects with Essex Home typically range from £18,000 to £50,000 and above. Where your project sits in that range depends on a handful of decisions:
Your quotation itemizes every element, including the trades. If it is not on the quotation, you will not be asked to pay for it, and we don't do discounts that expire at midnight.
Our Kitchens
Slab doors, clean lines and considered lighting.
Framed doors, painted finishes and a settled feel.
Uninterrupted runs with integrated grip rails.
In-frame cabinetry with proper joinery detail.
Made to your measurements and your ideas.
Homes in Clacton-on-Sea
Clacton town. Behind the seafront and the pier, the older streets have Victorian and Edwardian terraced and semi-detached houses. Their kitchens usually run along the back of the house beside a separate dining room, and joining the two is a common way to gain space and light.
Holland-on-Sea. Along the coast to the north-east, Holland-on-Sea is largely made up of bungalows and chalet homes. Kitchens here are often compact, and the layout has frequently been changed over the years by porches, conservatories or extensions. Storage does a lot of the work: pull-out larders, corner solutions and drawer-in-drawer, planned around what you actually own.
Frinton-on-Sea. Further along, Frinton's tree-lined avenues and clifftop Greensward include large Edwardian houses and the white 1930s modernist homes of the Frinton Park Estate. Our Shaker style suits period homes like the first; Modern suits new builds and open-plan extensions, and Handleless suits minimal interiors.
Kitchen Builder
Choose a layout, door style, colours and worktop, then turn the room to see it from every angle. Send us what you like and your designer will bring it to the first visit.
Bespoke kitchens
Coastal houses that have been altered over the years often have rooms where nothing standard fits: a kitchen that turns a corner into a former lean-to, a chimney breast in the middle of a wall, or a ceiling that drops where an extension meets the original house. That is what our Bespoke range is for: walk-in pantries, curved islands, boot rooms, hidden doors and furniture made to the millimetre by our own workshop, in timber, metal, stone and glass. Our bespoke kitchen in Hutton combined fluted oak, a hidden utility door and brass detailing.
If your room is more conventional, our other four styles are a starting point for that conversation. Shaker, the Essex favourite, uses a framed door with a recessed centre panel, painted in any colour. Handleless doors open with an integrated rail or a gentle push. Modern uses slab doors and minimal gaps. Traditional is in-frame cabinetry with cock beading, mantels and dressers.
Tell us about your kitchen. Our quotation form takes about three minutes, and nothing on it commits you. Tell us the size of the room, the style you like and the building work you think you need, and we will come back with a plan.
Installation
Once you enquire, we call you back within one working day. Your designer visits to measure the room and check services and structure, then presents a 3D design with plans, elevations and photorealistic visuals. Revisions are part of the process. The fixed quotation follows.
Our own fitters and trades then work to a written programme managed by one project manager. The old kitchen is stripped out and taken away for licensed disposal, electrics are upgraded by NAPIT Registered Electricians, plumbing and gas are moved where the design needs them, and walls are skimmed and the floor laid before the cabinets go in. Typical installations take two to four weeks. We finish with snagging, a clean and a walk-through, and hand over our ten-year installation guarantee in writing.

★★★★★
"Everything was handled by Essex Home. The electrician, the plasterer and the tiler all turned up when we were told they would, and Dan managed it all. We never had to chase anyone."
