Home / Kitchen Appliances
Kitchen appliances work best when they are part of the design rather than squeezed in at the end. We supply and fit Neff, Siemens, Bosch, Miele and Fisher & Paykel, and we will happily install something you have already chosen. Every appliance we supply is installed, commissioned and has its warranty registered on your behalf, and our own electricians make the connections.

Integrated
Integrated appliances sit inside the cabinetry behind doors that match the rest of the kitchen, so the room reads as one piece of furniture. They suit modern, handleless and Shaker kitchens alike, and they keep an open-plan room calm.
Freestanding appliances stand on their own and can be taken with you when you move. A range cooker under a mantel or an American-style fridge freezer can become a feature in its own right.
Many kitchens use both. A downside of integrated appliances is that they need to be planned into the cabinets, so swapping one later means finding a model that fits the same space. That is one reason appliances are shown on your plans and elevations at the design stage, before anything is ordered.
Cooking
Ovens can sit under the worktop or in tall housings at eye level, which saves bending and creates a clean bank of appliances. On our Brentwood project, Neff ovens were paired with a warming drawer. A range cooker is a good fit for a traditional or Shaker kitchen, as on our sage green Shaker kitchen in Chelmsford.
Induction hobs are fast and easy to clean. If you would prefer gas, water, waste and gas can be relocated to suit the design.
Extraction
Every cooking area needs extraction, and the right type depends on the layout:
Our Brentwood kitchen uses an induction hob with downdraft extraction. For any island, we plan the electrics, extraction and floor loads before a single cabinet is ordered.
Cooling
An integrated fridge freezer disappears behind a door; a pair of tall integrated units can give you a full-height fridge and freezer side by side. Wine coolers fit neatly under the worktop or into an island.
Taps and dishwashers
A boiling water tap replaces the kettle and frees up worktop space. It needs a tank in the cupboard below and a power supply, so it is best planned with the sink and the electrics. Dishwashers sit beside the sink, integrated behind a matching door or freestanding.
Laundry
A washing machine can sit in the kitchen, but many households prefer a separate utility space. Bespoke options such as a boot room or a hidden utility door, like the one on our Hutton kitchen, keep laundry out of sight.
Not sure what to include? Our online enquiry form lets you tick ovens, hob, extraction, fridge freezer, dishwasher, wine cooler, washing machine and boiling water tap, so your designer arrives knowing what you need.

Handleless
★★★★★
"Everything was handled by Essex Home. The electrician, the plasterer and the tiler all turned up when we were told they would, and Dan managed it all. We never had to chase anyone."
