Home / Kitchens / Bespoke kitchens
Some rooms and some briefs need more than a standard range can give. That is what our bespoke kitchens are for: walk-in pantries, curved islands, boot rooms, hidden doors and furniture made to the millimetre by our own workshop. Essex Home Kitchens designs, supplies and installs bespoke kitchens across Essex, and we manage every trade under one contract, from the structural work to the final coat of paint.

When it makes sense
Bespoke is for when nothing standard will do. It suits:
Every kitchen we build is designed from scratch for the room it goes in. Our other styles, from Shaker to handleless, are a starting point for that conversation, not a catalogue. Bespoke simply takes the idea all the way.
Our work
Two recent projects show what bespoke fitted kitchens can do:
Both were designed, supplied and fully installed by Essex Home, including the building work.
Materials
The short answer is anything you can describe: timber, metal, stone and glass. In practice, that might mean fluted oak fronts, a brass-edged shelf, a stone-topped pantry counter or a glazed larder. Colour is just as open. Painted finishes can be matched to anything you bring us, and natural timber can be left to show its grain.
Details
Bespoke kitchens often mix worktop materials, for example quartz on the main run and solid timber on an island or breakfast bar. We offer quartz, granite, Dekton, solid timber and Corian, all templated by laser after the cabinets are in and fitted by our own stone team. A curved island needs a worktop that follows the curve exactly, which is why the templating waits until the cabinets are in place. See our kitchen worktops guide for the differences between materials.
Handles and hardware are chosen to suit the scheme. Brass detailing, as on our Hutton kitchen, pairs well with oak. Push-to-open doors suit a hidden door or a flush pantry wall.
Planning
Bespoke kitchens are often part of a bigger change to the house. We handle structural alterations ourselves, including removing walls, forming openings and installing steels with engineer calculations and building control sign-off. Islands are planned from the floor up, with electrics, extraction and floor loads worked out before a single cabinet is ordered.
Cost
Complete kitchen projects with Essex Home typically range from £18,000 to £50,000 and above. Bespoke projects sit wherever your room, your materials and the building work take them, and every element appears in one fixed, itemized quotation. If it is not on the quotation, you will not be asked to pay for it.
Start with a few photos. Send pictures of your room on WhatsApp to 07496 559464 and tell us what you are hoping to achieve. A designer will reply, not a bot.
Our work
A family home in Brentwood: a load-bearing wall removed, a new quartz island and a full rewire, completed in three weeks on site by our own team. See the full project.

Handleless
★★★★★
"Everything was handled by Essex Home. The electrician, the plasterer and the tiler all turned up when we were told they would, and Dan managed it all. We never had to chase anyone."
